The King David Census detailed in 2 Samuel 24:1/15 taxes the sanity of any logical thinking being. Even animals if they were able to read and speak would say that these verses had to have been written by someone completely insane.
God tells King David to take a Census and then the two together decide that counting people and allowing themselves to be counted is a Sin punishable by death - 70,000 people no less. This really tells us that the Bible Scribes were on some kind of hallucinatory drug.
But there it is in the Bible and so one would then expect that believers would have remained true to the laws that were written by godly inspiration no matter how mad they appear.
Well then, why would God have chosen two people intent on committing a deadly sin to father his only son, and so make the son a sinner at birth? Luke 2:1/7 tells us that Joseph and Mary went to Bethlehem to be enrolled or taxed (depending on Bible version) and so numbered in the Quirinus Census which took place not in the year dot but 6 years later, thus telling another lie.
Perhaps Joseph and Mary had never read 2 Samuel, but surely God had some memory of what he did in the days of the Old Testament?
