I wonder if Christians ever ask themselves, or their priests, just what they have to do to BE SAVED. There is no clear guide to being saved in the Bible and a quick study of the New Testament proves that Christians haven't got a hope in hell of BEING SAVED.
The following is from Ian Vayro's "God Save us from religion", pp 309/310 (the comments are all Ian's):
"Actually, the Christian religions' requirements of 'Belief', rather than 'Works', as recorded in the Bible, to achieve everlasting life, simply defies logic.
The sacrifice of the innocent to redeem the guilty defies common sense.
To this day, Christians try to become saved and gain everlasting life out of their Bibles, despite the fact that there is no clear scriptural format to achieve this within its pages.
You don't have to believe me or anyone else; you can read it yourself:
• Matthew 10:22, Matthew 24:13 & Mark 13:13 'He that endures to the end will be saved'. (Assuming, of course, that he is a believer?)
• Matthew 16:16 'He that believes and is baptised will be saved.' (Even if he doesn't endure to the end?)
• John 3:5 'Only he that is born of water and Spirit will be saved'. (So, the above is wrong?)
• Acts 16:31 'He that believes on the Lord Jesus will be saved'. (Even if he is not baptised of water and spirit?)
• Acts 2:21 'He that calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved'. (Even if he doesn't endure to the end?)
• Romans 10:9 'He who confesses with his mouth "Jesus is Lord" and believes in his heart that God raised him from the dead will be saved.' (Even if he is not baptised of water and spirit?)
• 1 John 4:7 'He who loves is born of God'. (So, now 'love' is also a requirement.)
• John 12:32 'Jesus implies that all persons can be saved'. (With no further criteria required!)
• Timothy 2:3-4 & Peter 3:9 'God wants all to be saved'. (OK, can we count on that?)
• Matthew 7:21 "Not everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved'. (Why is that?)
• Acts 2:21 & Romans 10:13 'Whoever calls on the name of the Lord will be saved'. (That's not what we just read.)
• Luke 13:24 'Many will try to enter the Kingdom, but will be unable'. (Why not?)
• Acts 2:39 'Those God calls to Himself will be saved'. (What about the others?)
• John 12:40, Acts 2:21, Acts 2:39, Romans 9:27 & Romans 10:13 'Some willl not be saved'. (I give up!)
• Matthew 7:21, Luke 10:36-37, Romans 2:6, Romans 2:13 & James 2:24 'We are justified by works, not by faith'.
• John 3:7, Romans 3:20-26, Ephesians 2:8-9 & Galatians 2:16 'We are justified by faith, not by works'.
So, where does this leave us" Well the primary purpose for Christians becoming 'born again' is to become 'saved' and gain everlasting life, yet the reality is that the Bible gives us no consistent or precise direction of what is required to achieve this.
The original method of gaining eternal life is no longer recorded in our English Bibles. They have been watered down and vandalised, re-written and changed to the point of being virtually useless.
.....Saint Paul turned the supposed teachings of Jesus into a circus and Constantine and his supporters did the rest. The secrets (from the Egyptian Mystery Schools) are now virtually lost, the message is virtually lost, and the procedure for gaining eternal life is also virtually lost.
This would apply, more particularly, for the church-going public who are totally closed to information outside the current 'manufactured' Bible.
The congregation still haven't twigged that something is dreadfully wrong and THEY ARE WASTING THEIR TIME.
From the start, there was conflict between the teachings of St.Paul and those of Peter and James and the 'added' New Testament is in conflict with the historical record with no collaboration outside the Bible.
In churches today, this Bible is still fervently taught as the Word of God and it makes lofty promises about the endurance of God's word:
Isaiah 40:8 'The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.'
This is echoed by the writer of 1 Peter:
1 Peter 1:25 'But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.'
Maybe the actual word of the Lord will endure forever, but certainly not in its current form, found in the various 'manufactured' scriptures within present day Holy Books.
We have seen that no matter how altruistic this ideal, there has been so much tampering and hiding, editing and changing of the randomly selected scriptures that ended up in the Bible, that it is virtually impossible to identify any consistent motif in this manufactured 'Word of God'."
The Fundamentalist has somehow rewired his/her mind to ignore all the countless errors and contradictions such as those listed above.
Yet there are verses in the Old Testament which rule out the possibility of almost every living person today from ever entering the Kingdom of Heaven.
Anyone who has gone into their family history and looked at the actual Church Records - (AND NOT JUST AT THE ABBREVIATED EXTRACTS PUBLISHED BY THE CHURCH OF LATTER DAY SAINTS - 'THE IGI') - will have read line after line in Parish Registers dated in the 17th and 18th centuries, which state 'BASTARD SON OF ...' or 'BASTARD DAUGHTER OF......'
These are not isolated entries. Just look through any Parish Register dating from these two centuries and you will find these lines repeated over and over again. IT WAS THE NORM FOR THE TIME, NOT THE EXCEPTION !!!
This means that you can absolutely bank on it that you have one or more illegitimate ancestors in YOUR FAMILY HISTORY.
NOW READ THESE VERSES:
Deuteronomy 23:1 HE THAT IS WOUNDED IN THE STONES, OR HATH HIS PRIVY MEMBER CUT OFF, SHALL NOT ENTER INTO THE CONGREGATION OF THE LORD.
Deuteronomy 23:2 A BASTARD SHALL NOT ENTER INTO THE CONGREGATION OF THE LORD; EVEN TO HIS TENTH GENERATION SHALL HE NOT ENTER INTO THE CONGREGATION OF THE LORD.
The first of these two verses only concerns males. As usual the Bible ignores the ladies and often pretends that they do not exist.
