1 Kings 10:28/29 is a mixture of error and contradiction.
KING JAMES VERSION 10:28 And Solomon had horses brought out of Egypt, and linen yarn: the king's merchants received the linen yarn at a price.
10:29 And a chariot came up and went out of Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and an horse for an hundred and fifty: and so for all the kings of the Hittites, and for the kings of Syria, did they bring them out by their means.
REVISED STANDARD VERSION: 1 Kings 10:28/29 And Solomon's import of horses was from Egypt and Ku'e, and the king's traders received them from Ku'e at a price. A chariot could be imported from Egypt for six hundred shekels of silver, and a horse for a hundred and fifty; and so through the king's traders they were exported to all the kings of the Hittites and the kings of Syria.
GOOD NEWS BIBLE: 1 Kings 10:28/29 The king's agents controlled the export of horses from Musri and Cilicia, and the export of chariots from Egypt, They supplied the Hittite and Syrian kings with horses and chariots, selling chariots for 600 pieces of silver each and horses for 150 each.
We are supposed to believe that a tiny land ruled locally by a mix of warring chieftains but overall by the Super Power of Egypt were able to tell that super power what arms and weapons they could export and to whom. This is not just ridiculous it is taking every reader to be an utter fool.
The Chariot was the Nuclear Bomb of the time and this is just as silly as saying that Castro was telling the President of the United States where to position rockets. Sheer madness.
It really gives away the fact that Solomon was the Pharaoh Salim Amen III and that it was Egypt that had all the chariots.
It gets worse.
King James Version 10:26 And Solomon gathered together chariots and horsemen: and he had a thousand and four hundred chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen, whom he bestowed in the cities for chariots, and with the king at Jerusalem.
Oh, so now we are expected to believe that a tiny strip of land ruled by a super power had 1,400 chariots, 12,000 cavalry. Absolute nonsense. Even Egypt themselves didn't have that number of chariots.
